The CI-TP4800 Portable Dissolved Oxygen Analyzer is a handheld instrument developed by Shanghai Chang Ai Elec- tronic Technology Co., Ltd. It features high sensitivity, fast re- sponse, compact size, portability, and easy operation. It is ca- pable of measuring both liquid-phase and gaseous samples, including dissolved oxygen, gaseous oxygen, and tempera- ture. The housing is waterproof, while the probe is made of stainless steel with an external plastic protective sleeve for enhanced durability. A strain relief is added at the cable con- nection to reduce wiring fatigue. The CI-TP4800 Portable Dis- solved Oxygen Analyzer delivers fast and accurate data for in- dustrial dissolved oxygen and gaseous oxygen measurement at a competitive cost.

    Working Principle

    The measurement of dissolved oxygen is based on the Clark electrode principle, where a selective membrane separates the water sample from the electrode. Since oxidizing and reducing ions cannot pass through the oxygen-permeable membrane, no sample conditioning is required. When a constant voltage is applied across the two electrodes, dissolved oxygen is reduced at the platinum electrode (cathode) to form hydroxide ions.

    Cathode: O + 2HO + 4e→ 4OH

    The oxidation reaction takes place on the surface of the silver electrode (anode).

    Anode: 4Ag + 4Cl → 4AgCl + 4e

    The redox reaction generates a diffusion current, and the magnitude of the current is directly proportional to the dissolved oxygen concentration.

    ● Low power consumption and long operating time: Powered by dry batteries, with continuous operation up to 1500 hours.
